Placement exams occur during Summer Orientation. There are placements for chemistry and mathematics.
Math Placement[edit | edit source]
Precalculus/Calculus 1[edit | edit source]
lots of trig stuff, very little of conic, polar, and induction
If you pass this exam, you place into Calculus 1. Previous year cutoff has been roughly 30/34.
Calculus 1/Calculus 2[edit | edit source]
Contents covered on the exam include limits, derivatives, and integral shenanigans, also integrating volume and stuff
If you pass this exam, you place into Calculus 2
Calculus 3 or higher[edit | edit source]
written stuff. less than 5-10 people pass this exam every year
have to score very high, make sure you know sequences/series well if you want to pass this one
If you pass this exam, you place into Calculus 3
AP Credit[edit | edit source]
AP Calculus AB/BC exam score of 5 may be considered for your math placement. Anything besides 5 is not counted.
Chemistry Placement[edit | edit source]
place into honors, gen chem = pain
ACS Exam is a very good practice guide.
cutoff is relatively low, in 50s-60s.
usually abt 80-100 ppl per class place into honors
