Room Signs

The politically-infused Pepe, with a Mark Twain quote admired and printed by Anthony Zhou

A resident of Room 373 along with Anthony Zhou, Nathaniel's identity was closely intertwined with that of the wing. At the start of the year, he made a picture of a confused Pepe the Frog colored with the Chinese, Hong Kongese, and American flags, and a message in binary insinuating that there was a $1 bill hidden underneath the wing recycling can (at this time, the democratic riots in Hong Kong were in the news). To his dismay, it took a long time before someone finally discovered the dollar.

Nathaniel also printed signs saying "knock here for Nate" (pointing to one side of the door) and "knock here for Anthony" (pointing to the other side), which was an entertaining way of knowing who was meant to be contacted when one entered the room, as the left side of the door produced much less "banging" noises than the right when knocked due to its proximity to the hinges.

Other

Nathaniel, along with his roommate Anthony Zhou, were recycling representatives for D300 as a whole, for fall and spring semesters of the 2019-2020 school year.

Unfortunately, Nathaniel was also known for being a bit of a killjoy at nights in the wing, as his sensitive sleep habits required him to habitually go outside the room and tell the nighttime interlocutors to shut up. However, this problem was largely solved upon the privilege of 1:00 A.M. curfew being enabled in the second semester.

Habits:

  • Drinking copious amounts of coffee each morning & afternoon at Bruce Cafeteria, often up to 5 cups a day. Often supplemented with a Starbucks from Discovery Park.
