Russ Stukel started as a hall director when TAMS only occupied the third floor of McConnell Hall and UNT students co-inhabited McConnell Hall. Throughout the years, Russ has moved through a variety of positions to be the Assistant Dean for Student Life. Russ has a BA in psychology, an MA in Counseling Student Services and has taken courses in Training and Development at the doctoral level. Never afraid to give an opinion, Russ enjoys discussing just about any topic: ranging from politics, theories on leadership, international affairs, current sports, and what is the hottest movie. Those familiar with Russ discussions understand what he mean when he states, "he may be wrong from time to time but he is never in doubt". Russ lives in Denton with his lovely wife Laura and typically a minimum of two Basset Hounds. Many folks catch Russ running on a treadmill in the UNT Rec Center. He annually runs the White Rock Marathon in Dallas and aspires to claim a "Kona" spot at the Mecca of triathlons. He regularly plays handball, (racquetball is for weenies) and would like to play more golf if time permitted. Russ will read just about any book.
