The Artificial Intelligence Society (AIS) aims to increase the TAMS community’s understanding of artificial intelligence techniques and applications. Through guided study and regular competitions, we will crystallize the process of creating machine learning algorithms and explore the multitude of problems they can be applied to. By the end of the year, members will have the skills to pursue AI-based projects on their own, which will be demonstrated by a cumulative group project showcase.
Competitions[edit | edit source]
AIS competes in a variety of AI, ML, and programming-based competitions.
AWS DeepRacer[edit | edit source]
AIS has competed in the Amazon Web Services DeepRacer Student League, a international Reinforcement-Learning based competition for high school and college students. TAMS has had success at the event - a UNT team composed of Eric Peng, Caleb Tian, and William Hua actually won the inaugural competition, winning thousands of dollars for themselves and UNT. Zachary Li was able to win a prize (6th place) in the April Student Qualifier in the 2022-2023 season, but the competition continues to increase in difficulty.
CorrelationOne's Terminal[edit | edit source]
Terminal is an algorithm based AI competition where players code strategies to play the title tower defense game.
