'''Rosecutting''' occurs at the end of spring semester and celebrates student life achievements. During the event, Manus awards are given out to students active in student life activities and senior baby pictures are shown. Graduating seniors also cut a rose which symbolizes the end of their high school journey. While it sounds cheesy, many students cry during the event.

=== Student Life Award Nominations ===

==== Junior Pacesetter Award ====

This award is presented to the first year student who has “set the pace” for the rest of the junior class. The question was, “which junior do you believe has demonstrated academic integrity, outstanding citizenship, leadership and service to the TAMS community this year?"

==== Academy Spirit Award ====

The Academy Spirit Award is presented to the student who has demonstrated the most “school spirit.” Here at the academy, when we talk about “school spirit,” we’re not talking about a simple minded loyalty or having a rah-rah attitude. We’re talking about students who genuinely care that this place (TAMS) becomes the best it can be. It’s easy to complain: it’s more difficult to question the rules and push for improvements in constructive ways. These are people who have actively worked both to improve the academy and to represent it to the public in the best possible light.

==== Pioneer Spirit Award ====

This award is presented to students who originated or led the efforts in opening up new lines of thought or activity in the TAMS community. These initiatives and programs could have been within the TAMS community or external initiatives that benefited communities outside of TAMS. Overall, these initiatives reflected positively back at TAMS. Whether it’s a new program or a new direction for an existing club, their efforts will leave a lasting impact on the TAMS community and beyond. Words such as entrepreneurial or renaissance could be used to describe these individuals.

==== Outstanding Leader Award ====

The Outstanding Leadership Award is presented to the senior who has demonstrated the important qualities of a good leader and has made significant contributions to the TAMS community. The question was asked, “Which senior do you think of as a good leader?” It is not a requirement that these individuals lead a specific organization or club – these individuals demonstrate behaviors that other great leaders possess, and these people have the ability to be a positive influence in the lives of others.
